Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

41893 Tombstone

8/26/2015 3:10 PM Hello. My Grandfather Michel Rabinovitch was born in Minsk on July 20th, 1905. His parents were David Rabinovitch (born aprox. 1875) and Sara Aron (born aprox. 1882). He had 2 sisters: Mura (date of birth March 3rd, 1900) and Marie (don't know the date of birth). All of them, except for Marie are buried in the Cimetiere Parisien de Bagneux. The picture is of their tomb in Paris. I would like to know what the tomb stone says as well as look for family members. My grandfather married my grandmother who was Catholic in Paris on November 18th, 1936. My grandmother was from Colombia and because of the war, they moved there after getting married. Mura was married to a gentleman by the name of Toby Hansen. The only thing I know about Marie is that she was living in London in 1950 and went by the name of Marie Marx (maybe Marks). My grandfather changed his last name to Robbin, got Colombian citizenship and later US citizenship. He died in an airplane crash in Switzerland in 1950. View the post with its 1 response
