Cemetery Project

JGSLI is cataloging and photographing the Jewish burial sites on Long Island.

JGSLI has been indexing the Jewish cemeteries and burials in Nassau and Suffolk counties. The cemeteries and/or cemetery sections listed below have been completed. All of the data, along with photos of the headstones, are contributed to JewishGen’s Online Worldwide Burial Registry (JOWBR) project where you can perform searches for burial data and see pictures of the headstones.

To date, your Society has contributed over 11,100 records to JOWBR!

Click here for a list of the Jewish Cemeteries in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

You can help us by digitally photographing headstones for entire sections or by entering data from the photographs into an Excel spreadsheet template. If you would like to help us with this indexing project, please contact us at cemetery_project@jgsli.org
