PROJECT on RECENT JEWISH IMMIGRANTS from the FORMER SOVIET UNION
The Jewish Historical Society of Central Jersey is pleased to have received a grant from the Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission and the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders to develop a traveling exhibit and to record oral histories on recent Jewish immigrants from the Former Soviet Union. We are looking for people who would be willing to allow us to record an interview with them about their experiences before, during, and/or after their immigration. We are also looking for people who possess interesting documents, photos, or other objects relating to their life in the Former Soviet Union, or related to their immigration experience. If you are a recent immigrant from the FSU, or if you think that you may be interested in helping to collect oral histories, or in helping to create an exhibit for this project, please contact us at 732-249-4894, or by email at info.jhscj@gmail.com. About Our Society
The mission of the Jewish Historical Society of Central Jersey is to promote, research, and publish all facets of Central New Jersey's Jewish experience. We maintain an Archival Collection which is available to researchers. We promote educational programs and exhibits for both the Jewish and general communities. We hope to foster pride in our heritage to all our Jewish constituents, whether they are old-time residents or recent arrivals.
